Historically, the Henry State Bank originated as the Sparland State Bank that was chartered in the 1920’s. The Bank was then moved to Henry in 1941 where it was first located at the corner of Edward and Second Streets. The current location of 700 Second Street was opened in 1967. Since the establishment in 1941, Henry State Bank has offered a full range of financial products and services.
These products include consumer and business checking accounts, NOW accounts and Money Market accounts. Long-term investment products include Savings, Certificates of Deposit and IRA’s – all at competitive rates. Other services include: Safe Deposit Boxes, Money orders and Cashier’s checks, notary service, license renewals, automatic clearing house origination and more.
The bank also offers a full line of lending services such as consumer loans, residential real estate loans, commercial real estate loans and all types of agricultural loans. The bank is partnered with Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago to offer qualifying applicants fixed-rate mortgages.
The bank holds approximately over $100 million in financial assets – however, the biggest assets are the employees and the long-term relationships maintained with the customers. Our employees are community-minded and volunteer many hours to local service, church and civic organizations.
While the foundation of Henry State Bank lies in its firm commitment to serving both customer and the broader community, there is also an emphasis on pioneering new products and services. This is evident in its investment of newer technologies that provide both convenience and security to its customers. An example of this includes the bank’s Internet Banking and Online Bill Pay services. In this way, Henry State Bank stays true to its roots while continuing to progress for the benefit of its clientele.
